Testing the limits of AI agents taking over everyday chores

By Mingjun ZhuPart of AI agents and virtual reality interaction experiments

The short answerToday's AI agents perform very well on highly structured tasks, but still need human intervention when the meaning is ambiguous.

Over the past few weeks, I handed some scheduling and research tasks entirely to an agent framework.

The results show that on highly structured tasks, the agent completes almost everything; but when ambiguous meaning and jumps in context are involved, it still needs a human. We still have some way to go before a true "digital twin".

// FAQ

What kind of tasks are agents best at today?
Single-threaded tasks with clearly defined inputs and outputs that do not require multiple rounds of complex subjective judgment.
